The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show is the fifth incarnation of the Tom and Jerry franchise and the second made for television, airing from 1980 to 1982. It succeeded Hanna-Barbera's The Tom and Jerry Show of 1975, bringing back the duo's slapstick chases. It also reintroduced some MGM characters, notably Droopy, who has his own segment. However, Filmation's use of cheap animation, monotonous soundtrack, and footage reuse is said to negatively affect the show's quality.
