Tokyo Godfathers is a Japanese animated film written and directed by anime film director Satoshi Kon. The film was produced by Madhouse Inc. and theatrically released in November 2003. The film focuses on a trio of vagrants in Tokyo, Japan that accidentally find a baby girl (whom they go on to name "Kiyoko") abandoned among discarded refuse on Christmas Eve. With only a few clues pertaining to her identity, they come together to look after the child as best as they can and strive to return her to her proper family. Along the way, the three of them gradually open up to one another and explain how they each came to wind up alone on the streets.

On their way toward a lead on Kiyoko's house, Gin, Hana, and Miyuki gorge themselves at a restaurant with the New Year's money gifted from Hana's surrogate mother.
