The World's Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country's Novice Seeker is an isekai light novel released in 2017, written by Tôwa with illustrations by Huuka Kazabana. A serialized manga adaptation began in 2018 with art by Rikizo. The story focuses on Arihito Atobe, who was once an overworked corporate employee. After dying in a bus crash, he is reincarnated in Labyrinth Country, a fantasy land full of labyrinths to be explored by Seekers. Arihito is made a Seeker and ends up getting the job of Rearguard, which he soon learns makes him a great supporter in battle. Beginning his new life, he also forms a party of companions, starting with his former boss Kyouka Igarashi and the demi-human Theresia.
