The Maxx is an comic book series created by Sam Kieth, published from 1993 to 1998. It was adapted into a 13-episode animated television series on MTV in 1995.
The story takes place in reality and an world named the Outback, imagined by a homeless man who calls himself the Maxx. He thinks of himself in the alternate reality as a powerful guardian of the Jungle Queen, who in reality is a a freelancer named Julie Winters.
