The Lazy Hyena is a children's book written by Joo Hong Low and is based on a Chinese idiom, "Shou Zhu Dai Tu," which is used to describe someone who waits for something good to come instead of working for it. The story is about Two Tusks the warthog and his rabbit friends Huang and Zhi, who play together in Heping Nature Park. One day, Zhi runs into and is eaten by Four Tooth the hyena, so Two Tusk and Huang figure out a way to rescue him.
In the beginning, Two Tusk is shown inflated from holding his breath underwater. A similar image is shown at the end of the book as part of a spot-the-difference challenge.
After Four Tooth eats Zhi, he skips going hunting with his friends, thinking more rabbits will come to him.
