Tales from the Chinese Zodiac is a collection of children's books written by Oliver Chin and illustrated by various artists. Each book details a story about the individual book's titular animal as well as characteristics and birth years associated with that animal. The stories themselves always consist of the misadventures of a young animal interacting with a human child while learning a valuable lesson by the end. While the books would frequently show other animals from the Zodiac appearing outside of their individual books, there are no reoccurring characters or overarching story to the collection. Similarly, the stories rarely make reference to the actual story of Chinese Zodiac with most books focusing on completely unrelated animals with the sole exception being Year of the Dragon.

From the books: Year of the Tiger, Year of the Rabbit, Year of the Snake

These book contain a short visual gag of an animal after stuffing themselves on some food that only spans one page each.
