Sweetness & Lightning (Amaama to Inazuma) is a manga series running from 2013 to 2018, created by Gido Amagakure. An anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment ran in 2016. It revolves around Kohei Inazuka, a teacher whose wife passed away six months before the story begins. He does his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi as a single parent, usually giving her store-bought meals. During an encounter with one of his students, Kotori Iida, she invites him and Tsumugi to come to her mother's restaurant. After which, Kohei regularly gets help from Kotori on how to cook so he can feed Tsumugi proper meals.
