Don't wanna cause any trouble, but I can't help to notice people here just seem to be focused on comics and manga. There seem to be a lack of interest on putting animated stuff.

Having been an active member of this community for many years now, what's been my understanding is that for every one person that is capable of going out of their way to properly document a sighting here, there's about ten other people that, for whatever reason, can only make a simple post about a sighting in the forum.

Everything added to this website is done purely through willing contribution; not out of obligation or responsibility. Some sightings require a great deal of effort to be recorded, and sadly not everyone around here has the time, resources, or even interest to devote to the charitable job of fully archiving them.

What Mothman64 says is true, and it is also difficult finding them. Wading through hours of cartoons just to find one scene or cartoon with scenes takes a lot of time, and a lot of access to sometimes very old and obscure cartoons. This Wiki contains a huge number of WG/inflation scenes, probably a fairly high percentage of the ones that exist. By no means all though. Finding the ones it's missing takes time and effort.

I love to contribute to the site by making pages and stuff like that, but I'm such a boomer at it that the most I can do is just these forum post.

It doesn't help that certain animated scenes are harder to find than others or easy to miss. For instance, I saw a short Japanese film about a rabbit and a tiger long before I found this site. The title was It took me a while but I found out it was a part of the "Tales of Magic" series. I found the entire series on Youtube and it would take a while to look through all 129 episodes.

I found them here if you want to look for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/@love-giftofafairytale3849/playlists Otherwise, it's going to take me some time to go through all of them.

While typing this, I saw a scene from Milo Murphy's Law Christmas episode that isn't here that only lasted for two seconds. I only saw it because I turned my head around at just the right moment.

I checked the Christmas episode and it wasn't a real sighting.

There's also the fact that GIS detects printed text in images. With that in mind, panels from random comics -- or manga or manhua, if they're translated -- are going to be much easier to find than any given animated clip, especially when you're searching with certain useful phrases in mind.

This is the most civil I've seen this board be! Seconding that there isn't a 'lack of interest' as far as I can tell. I'd say me and other friends with thsi weird hobby spend just as much time trawling vidseo content as they do comics - the hit-rate is just much, much lower.

Yeah, you gotta factor in all the near-misses, too. The things we're able post are just an inevitably tiny fraction of our overall searches.

I have to agree

I have no idea what other people are into, or what media they search, but I confine my efforts to animated theatrical and TV cartoons of the 1980's and earlier, because that's where my interests lie. Even confining my searches to that "small" sub-group, there are hundreds of thousands of cartoons to search, assuming they can even be found. Many can't. Copies either can't be found on Youtube or other video sharing sites on the internet due to copyright restrictions or simply because prints can't be found because they have been damaged or destroyed. With more modern cartoons, there are just so many more of them that there's a whole lot more territory to cover. The bottom line is that I have thousands of hours of cartoons sitting on my shelf waiting to be watched but there's only so much time to devote to it. Eventually I'm sure I will find some more scenes, if somebody else doesn't get there first.
