Forum - The Devil is a Part-Timer

I haven't checked the anime in a WHILE but back when I was into the Devil is a Part-Timer, the thing was that Sariel gaining a ton of weight was only into the light-novels. This whole arc however was not adapted into the anime given the anime split away from the light-novels. It was a long time ago though, so maybe there were new seasons or a new series that adapted the light novel's arc - but from what I heard, the weight gain was only in light novel form (I don't even think it was in the manga?)

Idk I’ve seen clips of season 2 on YouTube and it looks like the Weight gain happened at some point.

Same anon who first answered: I was not aware that a season 2 had been released! Glad to hear this long-talked about weight gain happened on screen, though I hope it isn't done ugly. I remember when I first heard about it I checked for the light novel illustration, and all there was to found was a little chibi design. Or maybe it was in the manga adaptation, I can't recall well - but it was the single drawing we had of his weight gain

And I’m episodes 2 & 5 of season 2. For a while after being banned, he became a husk. Thankfully, he’s allowed back in by S2 episode 15 so we can hope he gets chubby again. We can see a glimps of him being fat in the third opening.

None in the anime are chibified.

Okay, todays episode came and there’s unfortunately no sign of Sariel. But remember, the 15th second of the third opening has him fat on the left corner so there’s still hope.

Ok, out of topic, but why that Sariel looks like James from Pokemon?

Coincidental design choice, I suppose.

Back on topic, if Sariel hopefully gets fat again, would he be too heavy to fly with his angel wings? Just a theory.

Still no sign of Sariel in this recent episode. Still hoping.
