Nintama Rantarō is a long-running anime series and adaptation of Rakudai Ninja Rantarō, a 1986 manga by Sōbē Amako. Set in the Sengoku period, the show follows the boy Rantarō Inadera and his friends Kirimaru and Shinbei. They attend a school that teaches children how to be ninjas, but they tend to fail their classes. Many comedic events happen concerning the trio, their teachers and classmates, and other characters.
