Nancy is a long-running American comic strip first created by Ernie Bushmiller. The title character originally appeared in 1933 in Larry Whittington's strip Fritzi Ritz, which Bushmiller took over years prior. It was retitled in 1938 after Nancy proved to be more popular as a character. After Bushmiller's death, other artists took over the comic, bringing to it different art styles and more modernity. The strip follows the precocious 8-year-old girl, joined by her aunt Fritzi and best friend Sluggo.
