Mamotte Shugogetten!

Mamotte Shugogetten! is a manga series written and illustrated by Minene Sakurano and ran in Shōnen GanGan from 1996 to 2000. It was continued in Monthly Comic Blade from 2002 to 2005. An anime adaptation produced by Toei Animation aired in 1998, and a sequel OVA released in 2000. The story follows Tasuke Shichiri, a student who lives alone because his family travels so much. His father gifts him with a special ring called the Shitenrin, from which the moon spirit Shugogetten Shaorin is summoned. Her duty is to protect Tasuke, but her lack of knowledge about the modern world is a hinderance. Things get more complicated when Tasuke accidentally summons Keikounitten Ruuan, a sun spirit whose duty is to bring him happiness.
