Magi-Nation (series)
Magi-Nation is a media franchise owned by Interactive Imagination Corp. The franchise began in August 2000 with the release of Magi-Nation Duel. This collectible card game was created to bridge the complexity of the Pokemon CCG and Magic: The Gathering. The franchise later received a video game adaptation in 2001 for the Game Boy Color. In September 2007, a Magi-Nation TV series was produced. A short 3-volume manga was produced to promote the series.
The TV series centers around the evil Shadow Magi, Agram. In ancient times he was sealed inside the planet's core by an artifact called the Core Glyph. Three thousand years later, a young boy from Earth called Tony Jones is tasked with preventing Agram from escaping his prison. A special Magi known as the "Final Dreamer", Tony Jones must combat the forces of Agram alongside an ever-growing collection of Dream Creatures. The manga adaptation follows the same plot but replaces the protagonist with Monma Dan.
