Hillbilly Comics was an experimental bi-monthly title published by Charlton from 1955 to 1956, in one of the industry's many attempts to replicate the "hillbilly humor" that had in part made Li'l Abner such an enduring success. The book's release schedule became more and more erratic as readership waned, and it was eventually cancelled, with only four issues printed over 11 months.
