Hamtaro (Tottoko Hamutaro in Japan) is a children's anime series produced by TMS Entertainment and aired on TV Tokyo from July 7, 2000 to March 31, 2006. It is based on the children's book and manga series of the same name by Ritsuko Kawai and published by Shogakukan. It has been translated into numerous languages and aired in other countries (albeit not covering the entire series in most dubs). There are also films and video games.
The series follows the adventures of a young hamster named Hamtaro and his friends, the Ham-Hams, who meet up in a clubhouse built by their leader, Boss. Many episodes are based on the adventures of the Ham-Hams and the daily life of Hamtaro's owner, Laura Haruna. The original series ran for 193 episodes. It was followed by more series titled Tottoko Hamutaro: Hamu Hamu Paradaichu! and Tottoko Hamutaro Hai!.

Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite!
While in the school cafeteria, Hamtaro will come across a bloated pink ham next to empty milk bottles. She'll ask for Hamtaro to bring her "the flower" and will return to normal afterward.
While exploring the market, Hamtaro can help a talkative ham trying to open a box of cookies by tackling it. If helped, he'll eat an entire box plus half of another when you leave and come back to him.
Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak
There is a couple in Sunny Park trying to get a lot of sunflower seeds effectively. After learning Hamlift from them and rescuing one of them from Spats, the player can return to find them after eating too many seeds. They stay like this for the rest of the game, even in the end credit roll call.
One of these hamsters also teaches the Ham-Chat "Bloat-T". Once learned, Hamtaro and Bijou can perform the chat by looking in the encyclopedia, as part of Ham-Jams, and they do it during one of the end credits. The Hula Couple also performs this chat during the last part of the Hula competition.
Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Games
One of Oxnard's default animations is him puffing up while eating a sunflower seed before emitting a heart. This animation can trigger under several circumstances and Oxnard can sometimes be found eating constantly at certain points in the game.
