For Better or For Worse is a Canadian comic strip series created by Lynn Johnston in September 1979. After concluding its initial run in August 2008, the series would continue its syndication by printing additional reruns. The comic strip follows the day-to-day life and growing pains of the Patterson family in Toronto, Ontario. Unlike many other family-based comic strips, the characters all gradually aged and developed in real time over the course of the series.
