Dotto! Koni-chan is an anime series from 2000 directed by Shinichi Watanabe. It wasn't very popular in Japan, but it was a great hit in Latin America. The star character is a large boy named Koni (based on the sumo wrestler Konishiki Yasokichi). He and his friends always have crazy adventures, which also contain many parodies and wacky humor.

Iwan challenges Koni to an eating competition.

In a rendition of Journey to the West, a fat Moro plays the role of Zhu Bajie/Pigsy.

When High causes a fire in the ship he is on, Koni douses it by sucking up and spraying sea water.

When working as a stunt double, Emi undergoes many unpleasant feats, one of which is eating a lot.

In a mix-up of Japanese folklore, Princess Kaguya (played by Moro) is given a dumpling to convince her to join Momotaro (played by Koni) on his quest.

Lovely-sensei has gained a little weight, as Emi shows in close-ups.

One of the dancers is shown chubbier for unknown reasons after Moro causes part of the stage to collapse.
