Detective Conan (known in English as Case Closed) is an ongoing manga and anime series created by Gosho Aoyama. The manga was first published by Shogakukan in January 1994, while the anime series was produced by TMS Entertainment shortly thereafter in January 1996, currently spanning over 30 seasons, plus several original films, specials, and OVAs.

The series follows high school detective-in-the-making Shinichi Kudo, who shrinks in height after forcibly taking an experimental drug in an ambush by the Black Organization crime syndicate. Eventually adopting a new undercover identity, he enrolls at Teitan Elementary School as "Conan Edogawa" and forms a group of junior detectives among his peers. Working together alongside the police, they solve a multitude of crimes and murder mysteries.
