Cheetah Can't Lose is a humorous picture book by author Bob Shea. The general synopsis is that it is big race day and two kittens are getting ready. Their friend, Cheetah, appears to win the big race as he has done with every other competition. However, the two kittens have devised a multi-part plan to ensure that they will win for once. Using his ego against him, the kittens intentionally lose several competitions to cheetah, so they can reward him with prizes that slowly, but surely, hamper his racing ability.

The second competition is a pie-eating contest and Cheetah gets stuffed from eating five pies. The prize for the contest turns out to be the "Ice Cream Sundae of Triumph". Cheetah states that he couldn't possibly eat the sundae after eating so many pies... until the kittens say that it will go to second place.

Cheetah then spends the rest of the book bloated from the pie and ice cream.
