Castlevania is an animated web television series based on the video game of the same name. The series began development as a film by Kevin Kolde and his animation studio, Project 51. After almost a decade of troubled development, the project was picked up by Netflix. Following this adoption, Powerhouse Animation Studios and a number of Japanese staff members joined the project. The series is developed in the United States but heavily inspired by anime and the work of Ayami Koijima on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
The first two seasons serve as an adaptation of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. After Count Dracula's wife is burned at the stake, he declares the people of Wallachia as his enemy. He unleashes an army of demons which overrun the country and terrorize its denizens. Three heroes take up arms in response: Trevor Belmont the monster hunter, Sypha Belnades the magician and Alucard, Dracula's half-vampiric son. The series follows their adventure as they defend the country and attempt to defeat Dracula.
Old Homes (S2E2)
The group fights a horde of demons in a forest clearing. A fire demon charges a fire blast but Sypha responds with a spell. She manipulates the fire inside the demon which causes it to back up before bursting into flames.
The River (S2E6)
Inside Dracula's castle, the heroes fight through a force of night creatures. A bat demon attacks Trevor but he throws his fire-loaded morning star at it. The monster swallows the morning star and swells up before it explodes.
