Beetlejuice is an animated series based on the 1988 live-action feature film of the same name, developed by director Tim Burton at Nelvana. It originally aired on Syndication from September 1989 to October 1991, finishing in December 1991. It follows the antics of undead con artist Beetlejuice and his only true friend, a goth named Lydia Deetz, taking place in the haunted Neitherworld and a peaceful area in the real world named Peaceful Pines.

In an attempt to banish Boris to Death from her house, Lydia and Beetlejuice trick him into retirement by posing as movie critics in a parody of Siskel and Ebert. Lydia plays the role of Ebert, who himself did not like the original movie.
