Beautiful Darkness (Jolies Ténèbres) is a graphic novel from 2009, written by Marie Pommepuy and Fabien Vehlmann with illustrations by Kerascoët (the pen name of Pommepuy and Sébastien Cosset). The story revolves around a group of tiny people who lived inside the body of a dead girl. When the corpse starts decaying, they are forced to survive in the woods. What appears to be a whimsical tale quickly becomes dark, as the characters begin dying or disappearing one by one because of their own ignorance or callousness.
One of the larger people suddenly eats a much smaller one out of hunger.
