Battle Chess is a series of virtual chess games first released in 1988. The series is known for its unique and humorous battle animations.
Its most recent release is Battle Chess: Game of Kings, in 2015.
Battle Chess II: Chinese Chess
Battle Chess II: Chinese Chess is the sequel to the original Battle Chess. Unlike the original, this sequel is based off of Xiangqi. It was released in 1991.
The rook piece transforms into a dragon for its attack and defeat animations. Whenever a pawn defeats a rook, the pawn holds the rook's mouth shut, causing it to inflate with fire before it explodes.
When the rook defeats a knight, he eats him.
Battle Chess 4000
Battle Chess 4000 is the third game in the series, released in 1992. It uses traditional chess gameplay with a humorous sci-fi aesthetic.
Whenever a king piece defeats a pawn, it inflates the pawn with an air pump, then pops him like a balloon.
