Akuma-kun is a 1989 anime series produced by Toei Animation and directed by Junichi Sato. It is based on Shigeru Mizuki's Saishinban Akuma-kun manga. It ran for 42 episodes from April 15, 1989 to March 24, 1990. The series stars a young boy named Shingo Umoregi, who is destined to be Akuma-kun: a messiah that appears every 10,000 years to bring peace to the world accompanied by a group of demons and other creatures known as the 12 Apostles.
