Martha Speaks is an American-Canadian animated series based on the 1992 children's book of the same name written by Susan Meddaugh. Airing on PBS Kids from September 2008 to November 2014, the show features stories that often introduce new vocabulary words and other educational topics. Much like the book the series is based on, the show follows a dog named Martha, who is able to talk whenever she eats a bowl of alphabet soup.
