Garfield Originals is a French series of animated shorts based on the Garfield franchise and co-created by Jim Davis and Philippe Vidal. Each episode consists of a series of thirty seconds shorts based on a theme (for example - insomnia), similar to how a weekly run of Garfield strips are often structured. Unlike the comics, there is no spoken dialogue, and the comedy is instead entirely derived from visual gags, which are heavily slapstick driven.
Episodes
Ca-Cake
Garfield, Jon and Odie fight over a cake, which Garfield eats whole off screen. He returns with a large belly, and falls asleep by their feet. In another short, a hungry Garfield finds the fridge empty, and excitetdly devours Jon's cake to satiate himself. Having accidentally eaten Jon's clothes too, he sticks his tongue out in disgust.
Attention! Vet!
At the vets, Liz uses a blood pressure pump on Garfield, which causes his various body parts to inflate. When Jon starts to laugh out loud, Garfield gets revenge by taking the pump and inflating Jon like a balloon, sending him whizzing around the room.
Small Ball
While attempting to eat a banana, Garfield accidentally swallows a ball, and becomes Odie's new favourite toy. Attempting to flee the playful dog, he repeatedly slips on the banana skin until he spits the ball back out again.
