Oliver and His Alligator is a short picture book written by Paul Schmid and published in 2013. It centers around a shy boy named Oliver as he goes on his first day of school. On the way there, he decides to befriend an alligator from the local swamp to help him deal with any issues he might have. This leads to Oliver having the alligator eat anything that makes him nervous. The story is fairly light-hearted all the way through and Oliver is no longer uneasy about attending school by the end.
