Krazy Kat is an American comic strip created by George Herriman. It ran in newspapers from 1913 to 1944 with modest success, but it is considered a major influence for later works. It has also been adapted for animated shorts and television, as well as comic books. The series is about the carefree (and gender fluid) Krazy Kat, who is in love with Ignatz Mouse. Ignatz hates Krazy and responds by throwing bricks at their head, which Krazy believes to be a sign of affection. There is also Officer Bull Popp, and police dog who likes Krazy and tries to stop Ignatz from throwing bricks at all.
