I believe I speak for most of us when I say that these constant site blackouts are more than a little distressing as well as terribly inconvenient.

While I myself trust that these situations are likely being resolved as quickly as possible, is there perhaps someplace else we could refer to for updates on what is happening exactly whenever the site is down for whatever reason, especially if it is going to be offline for an extended period of time?

A lot of people rely heavily on this wiki and I think it would be in everyone’s best interest if there was some sort of well-established auxiliary source (another website or maybe a Discord server) to check for reassuring explanations as to why the wiki might suddenly not be working.

Yeah, I have these inconveniences that I, or we, can not enter into this page. Is there something wrong with the website?

Thanks

We have a channel on The Squish Gang's Discord server that you can use for updates.

I agree that the frequent blackouts are an issue. The problem is that the old and new server handle high network usage slightly differently. If your website is on a shared host and you experience a traffic spike, your page will be throttled to minimize the impact on other websites. On the old server this would just slow the site to a crawl but on the new one it's causing issues that take down the site entirely. We're currently diagnosing the issue and sometimes that requires us to keep the site down so we can diagnose the problem while it's happening.

If there are any future outages, you can ask for updates over on The Squish Gang Discord Server!
