Pee-wee's Playhouse is a live-action American television show created by and starring Paul Reubens. It stemmed from Reubens' 1980 stage show, The Pee-wee Herman Show. Because of its good writing and nostalgia, it gained a large viewing from both children and adults. Each episode follows the childish Pee-wee in his playhouse located in Puppetland. It is occupied by various living objects and others and visited by an assortment of human characters. There are also animated segments and clips from cartoons in the public domain.
