Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma is a manga and an anime written by Yūto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. As a manga, it ran from November 26, 2012 to August 29, 2019 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. An anime adaptation was created by J. C. Staff that aired in 2015, and a new season has aired every year since then.

The first season follows our protagonist, Soma Yukihira, as he leaves his diner in the shopping district of his home to go to the highly elite Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute at his father's request. While he is there, he faces trial and tribulation and makes many friends, but can he become the best chef there is? Will he have what it takes to rise to the top of the newest generation of cooking prodigies? Will he finally beat his dad in a cooking battle? Only time (and this anime) will tell.

The Secret in the First Bite (Season 2 Episode 5)

In this episode, Mitsuru Sotsuda helps Soma Yukihira by taste testing dishes. However, Mitsuru Sotsuda thinks Soma Yukihira's cooking is so good that he eats every dish that is prepared.
