The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue is the direct-to-video sequel film to The Secret of NIMH. Don Bluth, director of the previous film, was not involved. It follows Timothy Brisby, son of Jonathan and Mrs. Brisby. He goes to Thorn Valley to become a hero like his father. After meeting another mouse named Jenny, he learns that the mice who were assumed dead during the NIMH escape are still alive. However, they are trapped within the institute, as is Timmy's brother Martin. Timmy and Jenny go to rescue them before the lab can enact an unknown plan.
Timothy deals with a snake that has been harassing the village. He tricks it into eating a decoy mouse, inflating and sending it away like a balloon.
