Smarties are small sugar-coated chocolate sweets created by Nestlé in the United Kingdom back in 1937. The candy is sold in packs or tubes in many different countries across the world like Europe, Canada, and Australia, but in the US. They are not to be confused with the similarly named US brand Smarties which is a tablet-like sweet that holds the registered trademark in the US.

Only Smarties have the answer

"Only Smarties have the answer" has been the primary ad campaign for the UK and Ireland since in 1989.

Donald and the Flying Smarties

In this ad, a kid named Donald is harassed by giant flying Smarties throughout his town. He eventually gets launched into the air where he accidentally swallows one of the giant Smarties. This causes him to inflate, and pop, like a balloon.

Kids at the Zoo

This advert features a group of four kids and their dog causing trouble at a zoo. The kids scare an old lady in the snake exhibit by rattling their smarties and the dog imitates them by shaking the snake. The kids run away yelling "NOT SMART" while the dog, now inside the snake, asks why it's not smart. As the snake closes out the ad, the viewer can see its body expanding slightly past the Smarties wall implying that the dog is still inside the snake.
