Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat is an educational animated TV series based on a children's book written by Amy Tan. The show aired on TVOntario, Societe Radio-Canada and PBS from 2001 to 2003. Taking place possibly in the Qing Dynasty, it involves a royal cat named Sagwa, who lives in a magistrate's palace serving as a scribe. Her interactions with her family, friends, and the humans around her are accompanied by moral lessons and aspects of Chinese culture.
