Naruto is a manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It was published in September 1999 as a part of Weekly Shōnen Jump and ran publication until 2014. The series was made into an anime by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex that debuted in October 2002 and ended in February 2007. This was followed by a sequel series, Naruto: Shippuden, which began airing shortly after the original series. Following its conclusion was Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, which is currently running.

The premise follows the journeys of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja determined to achieve recognition and become his village's Hokage. This story is divided into two parts separated by a two-year time skip. The first part (original series) has Naruto training to become a ninja and participating in a ninja exam. The second part (Shippuden) details the fourth great ninja war and the Tailed Beasts involved in it. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations follows Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto's son, and the other children of the grown-up cast.
