Black★Rock Shooter is a Japanese franchise that got its start roughly in late 2007. It began as an original illustration on Pixiv by Ryohei Fuke, better known as "huke." He collaborated with Ryo, who led the Vocaloid band Supercell, to create a music video featuring the character. The popularity it garnered made way for the creation of anime, manga, and video game adaptations. The franchise revolves around the eponymous Black★Rock Shooter, a girl who has a blue flaring eye and uses a cannon that fires rocks at high speeds. Every installment is mostly unrelated to one another, so each version of the character has a different story.
