Maeterlinck's Blue Bird (or sometimes referred to as Maeterlinck's Blue Bird: Tyltyl and Mytyl's Adventurous Journey) is anime television series loosely based on the play "The Blue Bird" by Maurice Maeterlinck. The show only ran from January 9 to July 9, 1980. The show is made in Japan between 1978 and 1979. The show's premise follows Mytyl and Tyltyl, a brother and sister who seek the blue bird of happiness that is said to have the ability to heal their mother who is deathly ill.
