Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a computer-animated film released in September 2009 by Sony Pictures Animation based on the elements of the children's book of the same title by Judi and Ron Barrett. A sequel film was produced four years later in September 2013, and a prequel spin-off TV series with a slightly retconned plot began airing in February 2017.
Greatly expanding on the book's premise, the film itself focuses on Flint Lockwood, an aspiring yet over-ambitious young scientist whose inventions are often prone to causing trouble. His luck changes when he invents a machine that can transform water particles into food and can then effectively make any kind of food rain from the sky above his home island of Swallow Falls. While the once decrepit island soon becomes a popular tourist attraction from Flint's success, the food-themed weather gradually escalates in size until it becomes uncontrollably destructive and dangerous.
Film
During the "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" montage segment of the film, a young boy can be seen filling up on the rain of orange juice.
Later on and much more prominently throughout the film, Mayor Shelbourne overindulges on most of the raining food and subsequently gains an excessive amount of weight.

Flint first explains his latest invention that makes vegetables small and cute so kids are more inclined to eat a lot of them. However, an unintentional side-effect is that the vegetables return to their normal size after a certain amount of time.
Later, Steve and Gummy become giants and fight each other in the city. At one point they inflate themselves with helium and continue their fight in the air.
