Over the Hedge
Over the Hedge is a syndicated comic strip written by Michael Fry and drawn by T. Lewis. It tells the story of RJ, who is a raccoon, Verne, who is a turtle, Hammy, who is a squirrel, and their friends who come to terms with their woodlands being taken over by suburbia, trying to survive the increasing flow of humanity and technology while becoming enticed by it at the same time. The strip debuted June 12, 1995.

In 5 parts of the comic, RJ becomes immobile after eating too many Smackeezes, which then prompts Verne to try and slim him down. This causes RJ to explode and seemingly die.

RJ goes on the over side of the hedge and becomes immobile after eating a box of Fudge-O-Ritos.

Due to the fact that neither Verne nor RJ have a summer project, RJ gains a massive amount of weight. This causes Verne and Hammy to jump on him, making him lose all his weight.
