Eyeshield 21 is a manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. An anime adaptation ran from April 2005 to March 2008. The series focuses on a high school boy named Sena Kobayakawa, who has notable running speed and agility. Due to these abilities, he is assigned to the Deimon Devil Bats American football team as the team's running back, but only under the secret identity of "Eyesheild 21" to avoid recruitment from other teams.
