Vimto is a British soft drink manufactured by Nichols plc. Originating in 1908, it is a blend of blackcurrants, grapes and raspberries available as a cordial and a carbonated drink.
From 1997 to 2005, Jo Dobbs and Giles Andreae's creation Purple Ronnie was used to advertise the drink, directed by Mick Cookson at Duplexx Productions. During the 2000's, his campaign was toned down from his usual adult material due to the drink's appeal to children.
In one of the ads in the "Frutiest Word I Know" series aired in 2003, Ronnie drinks all the juice out of the logo until bloating up so much his shorts fall down.
