KonoSuba (full title: KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!) is a light novel series by Natsume Akatsuki. It started as a web novel in 2012, then it became a light novel that ran from 2013 to 2020, with manga and anime adaptations soon following. The story focuses on teenager Kazuma Satou, who has died an early and embarrassing death. He is met by the narcissistic water goddess Aqua, who mocks him for how he died. She offers to reincarnate Kazuma in a parallel world to defeat the Demon King, along with any one item or ability he chooses. Kazuma chooses Aqua, forcing her to join him on his adventure. However, Kazuma soon discovers that Aqua is borderline useless, despite her being a goddess. They find allies in the delusional mage Megumin and the masochistic knight Darkness, but their abilities add to the party's dysfunction. Fortunately, Kazuma is able to figure out how to make things work.
