The Geronimo Stilton is a best-selling book series of children's novels created by Italian Writer Elisabetta Dami. The series has sold over 180 million copies with 249 editions and has been translated into 49 languages with more to come. Originally, the books were issued and copyrighted under the name of the title character "Geronimo Stilton". As each book was presented to young readers as an actual book that Geronimo has written and published himself. Along with the books, the series got a TV show, musical, play, and video game. The stories generally revolve around the titular character Geronimo Stilton and his many misadventures. Best-selling author, star journalist of The Rodent Gazette, and a New Mouse City native, Geronimo's personality can best be described as a cowardly gentleman. Geronimo would much rather be at home relaxing instead of going on madcap adventures. However, his personality often leads him into adventures with his friends and family where he usually ends up injured, dirty, or penniless but somehow happy by the end.
