Hungry Monster is a short children's book written by famed New Zealander author Joy Cowley. Early one morning, a monster knocks on the front door of a family he knows looking for breakfast. No one in the family is awake yet and the monster sets off to find his own breakfast. This amounts to him eating random objects he runs into on the street, including an entire car. Feeling sick, he goes back home to rest only to for the family to tell him it was time for breakfast.
