Zombie Land Saga is an anime television series that first aired in October 2018. It was created through collaboration between Avex Pictures and Cygames, but was animated by MAPPA. Its second season is titled Zombie Land Saga Revenge, and a movie is slated for future release. The story begins when aspiring idol Sakura Hinamoto is killed by a truck. After ten years, she and six other girls from different eras are revived as zombies by Kotaro Tatsumi. His purpose for reviving them is to have them become an idol group to revitalize the Saga Prefecture of Japan. Giving themselves the group name Franchouchou, the girls struggle with their new lives while also trying to hide the fact that they are undead.
