Keep Your Mouth Closed, Dear is a childrens book written and illustrated by Aliki Brandenberg in 1966. It is part of her series of books which focuses on the life of a young crocodile named Charles. In this book, Charles accidentally swallows objects whenever he opens his mouth or speaks, so his parents warn him to keep his mouth closed. He eventually becomes stuffed to the point where his stomach slows him down and rattles whenever he moves. In the end, all of the objects are sucked out of Charles after he swallows the hose of an active vacuum cleaner.
The front cover and back of the book also show Charles after swallowing objects.
