Heaven's Design Team (Tenchi Sōzō Dezain-bu) is a manga series written by Hebi-Zou and Tsuta Suzuki and illustrated by Tarako. It started its run in 2017, gaining an anime adaptation that premiered in 2021. The premise is that God has just finished creating Earth. He was going to create all the animals to inhabit it, but chooses to give that task to a design department in Heaven. With the angel Shimoda as liaison, the team makes various animals at God's request. The series also explains why animals have certain features and why mythical creatures can't exist.

Proposal 2 (Volume 1, Chapter 2)
Wanting her bird to have a better chance against Mercury's snake, Venus makes it so the egg will immediately hatch when a snake is near. This doesn't save the chick from being eaten, however.
Proposal 5 (Volume 1, Chapter 5)
Mars suggests making the unicorn more cow-like in order for it to survive.
Proposal 9 (Volume 2, Chapter 9)

Saturn, Venus, and Neptune design a wolf-based Cerberus to be a mascot for Hell. They imagine it would get fat from eating three times the amount of food.

In trying to recreate Kenta's "first love" from his drawing, Mercury suggests having it swallow its prey like a snake would.
Proposal 24 (Volume 4, Chapter 24)
Neptune wants to incorporate inflation into his seals' mating ritual, and Shimoda asks if they would be like balloons.
