Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL is the third Yu-Gi-Oh! spinoff and the fourth series in the franchise overall. Set in the futuristic Heartland City where virtual reality is used in duels, the story follows the student and amateur duelist Yuma Tsukumo. He meets a spirit named Astral, who is searching for his lost memories in the form of cards called Numbers, which can also possess people. The two work together to recover the cards, crossing paths with others who seek Numbers, as well.
