Rick and Morty is an American animated series created for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block. It was originally based on The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti, a short film by Roiland that parodied Back to the Future. The show revolves around the bizarre adventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his teenage grandson Morty Smith.
