How to Train Your Dragon is a media franchise owned by Cressida Cowell and DreamWorks Animation. The franchise began with a British book series by Cowell that spans twelve installments. A film adaptation, video-game and computer-animated television series was produced in 2010. A film sequel titled How to Train Your Dragon 2 was released in 2014.

The book series focuses on a young Viking teenager named Hiccup as he aspires to become a Viking Hero. Hiccup's viking dragon is Toothless, a small green hunting dragon. The films take a very different direction, instead casting the dragons as the antagonists. Hiccup is tasked with becoming a dragon slayer but instead befriends a Night Fury named Toothless. The films see him changing the mind of his fellow vikings and teaching them how to train dragons.

How to Train Your Dragon (film)

A Terrible Terror confronts Toothless for a pile of fish. Toothless breathes fire into the Terrible Terror's mouth and it briefly inflates before stumbling away.
